HTC launches glasses-free EVO 3D smartphone


HTC Corporation has launched its 3D smartphone, HTC EVO 3D. As the name suggests, HTC Evo 3D is a 3D smartphone based on Google's Android Gingerbread 2.3 operating system. It is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon system on a chip -- MSM 8660 -- running at 1.2 GHz with an Adreno 220 graphics engine, 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of onboard storage.

The smartphone features a 4.3 inch 3D display with resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Evo 3D features a 5 megapixel camera at the back, capable of capturing 3D visuals at 2 megapixel resolution and 720p 3D video at 30 frames per second. Apart from 3D video, the camera is capable of recording full 1080p high definition video at 24 frames per second along with 5 megapixel 2D still images. There's also a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video chat.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Stereo Bluetooth and integrated GPS. Battery is 1730 mAh Lithium-ion which offers a talk time of up to nine hours.
